The Philadelphia Guild of Handweavers participates in The Revolutionary Germantown Festival!
The Revolutionary Germantown Festival is a neighborhood-wide event honoring the legacy of the Battle of Germantown. The Battle was the first planned attack by the American army during the Revolutionary War and aimed at liberating Philadelphia from British control.
This is a period correct event and period clothing is needed. If you don’t have any, we have things you can borrow. It is also period correct equipment. We do spinning on a great wheel (a member has one), and we use the guild’s Ashford traditional wheel, drop spindle and basket weaving. To volunteer you will need to have skills in one of these areas. History of the battle is also helpful! Space is limited and we need 4-5 volunteers. If interested, please email email@example.com
If you don’t want to volunteer, we would love to see you there as a guest!!
