I sent an email to anyone who signed up on the membership form to help with the Holiday sale. Many members did not fill out the form so please feel free to join this group so we can all make our holiday sale a success. We are looking for someone to step up and organize the sale. This year, we will be taking a percentage of each sale, and the formula will be computer driven, no table fees or complicated math!
We are also looking to hold the sale in a larger location than the guild house (which is under renovation). Questions can be asked here!
Hi everyone: I will be happy to help with the sale, both planning and on the sale day. I could head up a subcommittee but don’t have the time to run the whole sale. Melissa, in your previous post you asked for someone to organize the retail setup, does that mean setting up the tables, signs, etc. on the sale day? If so, I will volunteer for that. Wonder if we could all have a Zoom or Google Meet to discuss how the sale will run, etc. I’m new to the group and haven’t seen your holiday sales, how they are run, who the customers are, etc.
Unfortunately I won’t be able to attend on Saturday, as I’m traveling out of town for a wedding. I really wanted to go, as Anne Choi will be speaking and I’m working with her on a Fibershed Blanket (I’m coordinating the Blanket Project which is why I don’t have lots of time for other activities). Anne should be able to give you some ideas about the sale, as we’ve had two of these types of sales with our NJ Fibershed group in the past year and they’ve been quite successful, although I imagine much smaller in scale than the Weaver’s sale will be.
I’ll be back in touch with you after I return, next week, and you can update me on any discussions that you guys have at the meeting on Saturday. I was thinking that the venue we used last month for the get together might work for a holiday sale?
