Group Leader: Peggy O’Neill
Join us for our first in-person meeting this year during “Sunday Fun Day” at Awbury Arboretum, September 5. (See calendar for links.) We will gather with the weavers and spinners near the education building.
Welcome knitters and crocheters to new beginnings for our SIG. I’m excited to lead under new SIG guidelines (and sadly prolonged COVID restrictions). Well aware there are experts among us, I will rely on your willingness to share your skills. In my 60+ years with needles and hooks I have learned there is no end to new discoveries. I welcome every opportunity to teach beginners, continually amazed that I learn something new with each mentee. My plan is to schedule meetings to include time for topics we’d like to learn, re-learn, perfect, and share.
Exciting Announcement! We have been invited to use our yarn skills to beautify a new fencing section in the Philly Goat Project area. I will relay the details and show you where our display will be on exhibit when we meet. I’m confident that when we are together we can formulate a plan to begin the project and have it hung by October. A knitted a goat was by first idea. He may or may not fit our final plan. This will be the first public exhibit of PGHW’s Knitting/Crochet SIG. New beginnings indeed.
Enter through the gate at 6336 Ardleigh St. and walk through the gardens to the clearing to find us.
