PGHW is pleased to welcome Marcia Weiss, PGHW member & Director of the Fashion & Textiles Futures Center at Thomas Jefferson University.
Marcia will share her involvement & experience with SOS—Save Our Skills, an artisanal textile group in Burkina Faso. Following a chance meeting at a New York City trade fair, Marcia quickly found herself immersed in a movement to secure the cultural, professional and economic survival of West African cotton textiles, particularly hand spinning & weaving, leading to an amazing trip with students to West Africa to explore this fascinating culture.
