If you’ve thought about incorporating nontraditional materials into your textiles or fiber art, but aren’t sure how to do so, then this is a workshop for you!
Paper Clips? Videotape? Newspaper? Wire? Metal Washers? All nontraditional materials that can be integrated into your textiles or fiber art. Following a presentation that highlights a number of textile artists using nontraditional materials in their work, you will be led through a series of exercises designed to make you more familiar with the nontraditional material you’ve chosen to work with. During this process you will create small samples, be encouraged to think outside the box, and ultimately leave with ideas about how to incorporate your nontraditional material into your fiber related work.
Past guild speakers have highlighted The Resource Exchange and FabScrap, both perfect places to find unconventional materials!
Small class size of only 10 students.
