In this class Valerie Ciliberti will take crochet to another level by learning the stitches and techniques of overlay crochet. This will allow you to create fascinating textures and layered designs like the ones in the photo. You will learn to transform basic stitches by crocheting into the fronts, backs, front or back posts, and into the rows below.
We will also discuss color choices as an integral part of overlay design and learn how to read an overlay pattern. You will leave with a small circular mandala, complete in itself, and a pattern that will allow you to continue to enlarge the mandala by working additional rounds.
Some experience working basic crochet stitches: single crochet, double crochet, half-double crochet and treble crochet.
