Sewing Handmade Fabrics: Felt Focus
Liz Spear
Liz Spear will present an overview of the development of her sewing and design techniques used to
cut-n-sew her handwoven fabrics and wet-felted nuno-felt into award-winning garments. Her business
began in 1995 upon completion of the Professional Crafts Program at Haywood Community College,
when she realized that weaving yardage and sewing garments would fill her need to work with her
hands to make functional and beautiful items.
This Virtual presentation will include many images and illustrative stories and will hopefully inspire
you to combine some of your handmade fabrics into garments you’ll be proud to wear.
