Instructor bio:
Nancy Shiffrin has a BA in studio art, with a concentration in Pottery. In the mid 1980’s she discovered weaving, and has been exploring the many dimensions of fiber ever since. Over the years she has explored embroidery, dyeing, knotting, quilting and surface design, but always returns to weaving which feels integral to her identity.
In 1992 she received a Certificate of Excellence in Handweaving, Master Level from the Handweaver’s Guild of America. She enjoys many types of weaving, but has concentrated on weaving complex weaves with a computer assisted loom. Over the years she has taught all levels of Handweaving to children and adults, from beginners through advanced. She loves teaching new weavers, and through them is constantly exposed to the delight of discovery.
