This Special Interest Group (SIG) is great for folks interested in sustainable practices in fiber arts.
This group meets monthly—primarily via Zoom but every third meeting will be in person. The goal is to learn from each other and share tips and resources.
Virtual sessions will include discussion, demos and sharing tips and resources. We’ll cover topics like eco, plant and vegan fibers, humanely sourced wool, reuse and up-cycling, non-traditional materials and more. In-person sessions will be an opportunity to get hands on.
There’s also potential in this group to work on service projects for the Guild, like helping to make sure vegan-friendly fibers are represented at events and in classes, adding to the Guild library, writing FAQs for other members and the public, etc.
