Visible Mending: how to add character to your well loved clothes

June 8 @ 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Saturday, June 8th from 12:30 to 4:30 PM

Cost: $60 members; $85 non-members

Local stay at home mom and fiber artist, Sarah Tyree-Francis, leads this workshop, bringing a love of slow fashion and sustainability to PGHW.

Do you have a perfectly fitting pair of pants you’ve worn so much it shows? Or a jacket or shirt that suffered a stain or hole keeping it out of your wardrobe, but you just can’t part with it? Bring your previously loved clothes with you to this workshop and learn how to add function back to your fashion, making one-of-a-kind pieces in the process. You will learn basic mending techniques and Sarah will help each student come up with their own unique design.

This class will show you that mending is art!

Don’t have something that needs mending but still want to learn how just in case? Bring pieces of fabric and we will make them in need mending! Sarah will provide individual mending kits for each student.

Participants will need to bring clothing items that need repair to work on during the class. I recommend at least 2 items to choose from per registrant. Or, bring 2 pieces of fabric about the size of a napkin.
