This group operates as a structured SIG, focusing on weave structures for 4-or-more shafts. For the first six months, we will follow a pre-set trajectory working through various forms of twill, lace weaves, and tied structures, as well as exploring concepts related to units, blocks, and profiles. Each session will include a short (15 minute) presentation on the scheduled topic by a member of the group, followed by shared learning and discussion of the previous month’s weave.
The emphasis is on drafting and structure, more than weaving per se—you do not need a loom to participate in this study group!
