Group Leader: Lori Falbo and Carlyn Nelson
Next Meeting: September 17, time TBD
Whether you are an active tapestry weaver, have a tapestry loom you would like to activate, or are simply curious about the process, please join us for a time to weave together, share ideas, discoveries, and skills.
The Tapestry SIG wishes to thank Faith Varrone for leading us through the challenges of the pandemic!
As she is stepping down from leadership, she will still be a wonderful resource and meet with us when she can.
The Sig will take a short break from regular meetings for the summer.
However, to keep us all in “touch” with our weaving, we are suggesting a CHALLENGE to anyone interested. Weave a tapestry on the theme of ‘A Walk in Nature.’
It can be anywhere…the woods, the beach, under the sea, desert, mountains, or the wonder of a night sky! The piece is not limited to any size, or classical tapestry, but might encourage us to experiment with technique and other materials (including but not limited to: actual grasses, seaweed, vines, plastic netting, paper, etc.) or follow more traditional techniques and materials. It will be fun to see the results!
Please submit a photo of your piece no later than:
Monday, Sept 12, 2022 to [email protected]
for presentation at our Saturday, September 17 meeting- which will be a hybrid of Zoom and In- person.
More details of time and location to follow.
