The PGHW Dye Garden at Awbury Arboretum
The PGHW dye garden is in the historic Germantown section of Philadelphia and within the grounds of Awbury Arboretum. The garden was established by Guild members many years ago and is currently comprised of 6 large beds in which are grown a variety of plants used for natural dying. Guild members are encouraged to help maintain the plants, weed, water, and learn to harvest and process the dye plants. Members are also encouraged to participate in community events and help educate Awbury visitors about natural dyes.
Awbury Arboretum is located at 1 Awbury Road. The Arboretum is comprised of 56 acres of beautiful landscape, the Cope House (original home to the family who purchased the land and built the house), a farm and other features.
Check out Awbury at https://awbury.org/. Awbury is free and open to the public dawn to dusk.
