Come along on a sewing extravaganza with Mary Glenn and Melissa Terrels as we combine sewing with many of the Special Interest group specialties our guild offers!
We will start our adventure by learning in a 2 part class how to sew a tote bag with an inside zippered pocket
and a snap closure.
Knowing we all learn at different speeds, if you finish the tote bag, we can/will also teach how to sew a basic small boxed bottom and lined zippered pouch.
Once the sewing essentials have been learned, we will take a break, giving you time to practice your sewing skills, then you can come back for more!
Our next adventure during the winter, will begin with making a similar tote bag designed by you. You can use your handwoven fabric, any store bought fabric or a fabric you have that you love!
For the second set of classes and before we begin the sewing, we will introduce you to decorative items that will make your bag sing! Adding fun touches such as fur, beads, embroidery, surface design ideas, paint, piping, or handwoven tape are just some of the ideas you can create to make your bag yours. Your imagination is the only limit!
We will help you design your bag with pockets, pouches and zippers and together we will learn how to add these decorative touches to create a bag you will be proud to show off. 
For this first class, we will have kits available for an additional $25. These kits will include main fabric, lining matching thread and interfacing. Or you can bring your own supplies from the list here:
A working sewing machine (please check that the machine works and you know how to use it before coming to class!)
