On Sunday, June 23 join PGHW member, Leigh Hanna, and learn how to expertly blend fiber and make your own rolags and batts for spinning yarn!
If you’re excited to play with fiber to create different colors and blends for your spinning, this class will help get you started. Together you will work on the basics of blending fleece and fibers:
-Blending methods (hand cards, drum carder, blending board)
-Fiber prep (+ woolen/worsted and project goals)
-Blending (mixed fibers, textures, color, add-ins, and project planning)
-Hands-on blending – go home with fiber ready to spin!
Students should bring:
Fiber – bring any fiber and/or add-ins you would like to blend. Resources for purchasing fiber prior to class will be provided and Leigh have various add-ins for you to try in class.
Please bring your blending tools – hand cards, blending board, and/or drum carder. The guild has several tools on hand but if you own tools, please bring them with you so those without may use the Guild tools.
