Awbury Arboretum

The Spinning SIG met for the first time this year on Sunday, April 25, 2021, at Awbury Arboretum. Parking near the gate at 6336 Ardleigh St., proved to be both plentiful and convenient.  A short walk down the paved path just past the community gardens opened to a sunny spot where we enjoyed catching up and chatting with the neighbors. Visiting the goats and chickens, working their own gardens, it felt good to get outside and see friendly faces, and feel the warmth of friendship along with the sun. Awbury volunteers worked diligently to clear winters’ debris while feeding the animals.  Our spinning wheels lured all passers-by and we delighted in answering queries, hearing their own fiber stories — and pleased to pose for pictures.  Alas, we took none ourselves.
