Monthly Meetings: 1st Sunday of each month at 10:00 am either on Zoom (link below) or in person
The Rigid Heddle SIG welcomes new and experienced weavers as well as those who are curious to see what the rigid heddle loom is all about. Rigid heddle looms are a great introduction to the world of weaving, but they’re not only for beginners. Weavers with experience will find almost unlimited uses for this very portable and affordable loom.
Members of our SIG are so inspiring — warped up, shuttles blazing though the sheds, pickups creating new and exciting floats — sharing that delights everyone. Smashing the illusion that there is anything Rigid about the Rigid Heddle. It is a happening that can’t be put into words — you have to experience it. We don’t need a season on the calendar to Spring into action, all we need is the momentum generated by the group.
At meetings we share ideas, resources and insights, give advice when needed, problem solve, and teach each other. We help new weavers with their first warping. We’d love to have you join to share your creativity!

Is there a way to unsubscribe from the PGHW calendar? I subbed and now my calendar is packed. it say I can’t delete events on the PGHW calendar and when I go to my account I don’t see any place to unsubscribe…

Help! I’m working on the Yarnworker color & weave 2-1 twill, and while everything LOOKS right, something is obviously wrong with the threading. I worked 8” and cut this off of the loom, so I could rethread, but the sequence of colors in all the slots and holes looks correct. More mysteriously, I can’t see any difference in the sections that look “right” (see the strong diagonals in the middle) and those that are incorrect (the interesting, yet unintentional, vertical panels on the sides). I’m working this with a heddle rod and pickup stick. Any suggestions, or tips on what to check?

I think I figured it out—the slots and holes were correct, and the pickup sticks and heddle rod had the correct color sequence, but I had apparently picked up out of sequence. My takeaway is to slide the pickup stick up against the rigid heddle to check that you indeed have one thread from EACH slot, if that’s your goal.
In any case, problem solved! (and please ignore my hideous selvedges)
