    Hello all,

I’m new to the guild and to tapestry and am working on getting a project together. I was wondering what your favorite yarns are and where you purchase them. I’m aware of Rebbeca Mezoff’s recommendations from her book– Harrisville Designs, Weaversbazaar, Frid Vevgarn and Faro –do you use any of these?

Also, has anyone ever used Paternayan’s Persian Wool which I think is now called Colonial Persian Yarn by the Colonial Needle Company? I bought a bunch of it a long time ago from a rug supplier (I think) but I’m wondering if it may be more appropriate for knitting and needlepoint. It doesn’t seem to be really stretchy, but then I’m not really sure how to tell if a yarn is.

And finally, are there any shops in the area that sell these yarns?

    Thanks for your help!

    Best,

    Linda Perry
